Edmonton- Dec ore
Trey Capnerhurst, Green party
Age: 46
Occupation: Stay at homemom
Reason for running: “Greens are all about solutions — realistic, proven, practical, progressive answers to our social, economic, and environmental issues that have been used all over the world. The framing of the current public and political discourse doesn’t even allow these ideas to emerge, much less be implemented.”
Top priorities: Health and social justice; we need to restore our social safety net to pre-Klein levels, including the support programs that helped families.
Chris Neilsen, NDP
Age: 48
Occupation: Warehouseman/shipper
Reason for running: “The PCs have lost touch with everyday Albertans. They are making life harder for Albertans by making us pay more to get less.”
Top priorities: Investing in hospitals and front-line care and cutting wait times in hospital emergency rooms; investing in local schools; stopping cuts in PC budget to ensure schools get the funding they need. Rewarding businesses that create local jobs with a targeted tax credit.

Dean R. Miller, Wildrose
Age: 46
Occupation: Sales
Reason for running: “Having witnessed first-hand the debacle the governing party has made to health care, the complete lack of accountability in PC spending and, as an outdoor enthusiast, the alienation of land owners and outdoorsman.”
Top priorities: Slashing wasteful spending. I want to make sure that property rights are entrenched in the constitution. The problem with health care isn’t the front-line workers; it is the system. I want to change it.
