Firepit bylaw in works

Councillors supported creating a new law Tuesday that would let staff put limits on backyard fires if they repeatedly cause a major nuisance.

Officers might restrict the number of fires an offender has, the time of day they’re allowed or the location, according to a city report.

Violators who don’t comply would face a fine.
