Henderson wins spot in Shootout
IRVING, TEXAS — Brooke Henderson played her way into the field for the $1.3-million US Volunteers of America North Texas Shootout golf tournament Tuesday.
The native of Smiths Falls, Ont., secured a spot in the LPGA Tour event with a birdie on the second playoff hole of the qualifier. Henderson, 17, carded a 1-under 70 despite having to come back Tuesday to finish her last five holes.
Heather Bowie Young won the qualifier by shooting a 68.
