The Cappies
The Journal and 23 area high schools are participating in the Cappies, a Washingtonbased program that uses high school critics to review high school theatre. The 17th show of the season was Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead by students of W. P. Wager High School. Critic discussions were mentored by Mandi Molloy of Austin O’Brien High School and Matthew Blackwell of J. Percy Page High School. The 18th show of the season was Coram Boy by students of Austin O’Brien High School. Critic discussions were mentored by Orysia Burdett and Serena-Rae Stein, both of Millwoods Christian School. The reviews on this page were edited and selected for publication by teachers who could see only the reviews, not the names of the schools or the reviewers. Awards for actors, those behind the scenes and critics will be presented at a Citadel Theatre celebration in June.
