Furious 7 tops in China

BEIJING — Fast & Furious 7 has knocked Transformers: Age of Extinction off the perch of China’s highest grossing movie, demonstrating that Hollywood action and special effects are the safest bets in the booming Chinese market.

The movie starring Vin Diesel ended its second week with a total box office take of about $332 million in China. In North America Furious 7 was No. 1 for the fourth weekend and has earned about $321 million. Its worldwide box office crossed the $1-billion mark Friday.
