Comp etition Winners

The winners of the 34th northern Alberta Concerto Competition get to strut their stuff at this Sunday’s Edmonton Youth Orchestra concert. Eleven-year-old violinist Maya Budzinski takes on Bruch’s Violin Concerto in G Minor, Zane Liang takes on Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto in D Major and saxophonist Kendra Heslip solos on Tableaux de Provence in the three slots set aside for this year’s winners. Bookending these performances will be selections from Manuel DeFalla (Dances From the Three Cornered Hat) and Arnold Bax, with Tintagel.
