Wildlife Carving
You’ll see plenty of bird carvings at the Alberta Wildlife Carving Association’s Images of Nature show this weekend, including an American kestrel, a downy woodpecker and the first best-in-show northern goshawk by Lana Cowell, but the carved wildlife goes beyond our feathered friends. Also in the bestin-show category are river otters, various fish and at least one walrus. The three awards presented are for Best Decorative Life Sized Songbird or Decorative Raptor; Best Land or Sea Mammal; and Best
North American Shorebird.
