This year’s Jewish Film Festival, which runs from Sunday to Tuesday during the first two weeks of May, boasts films from the U.S. and France, Germany and Israel. They range from dramas (Apples in the Desert, Run Boy Run) to documentaries (Above and Beyond, The Outrageous Sophie Tucker) to comedies such as Hunting Elephants. The hit Israeli film features Patrick Stewart in a caper involving a 12-year-old and his cranky grandfather, who are out to save their family.
