TD has new chief economist
TORONTO — Toronto-Dominion Bank, Canada’s second-biggest lender by assets, has appointed Beata Caranci as chief economist, replacing Craig Alexander who is leaving to join the C.D. Howe Institute. Caranci was deputy chief economist and head of TD’s U.S. and international economics unit. Alexander will be vice-president of economic analysis at Torontobased C.D. Howe, a research group.
