Season 3 of the 13-episode, hour-long standup series, showcasing the best homegrown and international comedians, premières tonight. Filmed at last year’s Just for Laughs festival in Montreal, the opener features Andy Samberg hosting a gala that includes performances by T.J. Miller, Kumail Nanjiani, the Lucas Brothers, K. Trevor Wilson and Nathan Fielder. (Comedy Network)
Garage Sale Mystery: The Deadly Room
Based on the novels of Suzi Weinert, this mystery series centres around garage-sale enthusiast Jennifer Shannon (Lori Loughlin), who has an eye for finding treasures she can resell at the consignment store she owns with business partner, Danielle (Sarah Strange). In this episode, her friend Danielle dies trying to prove that a multimilliondollar home she is trying to sell is not cursed, and Jennifer’s intuition tells her that she was murdered, despite webcam footage showing no evidence of foul play. Kevin O’Grady reprises his role of Det. Lynwood. (CTV)
Movie: Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief
He’s not exactly Harry Potter, but young adventurer Percy has had his own following through a series of books, and he brings his exploits to the screen. Played by Logan Lerman (Jack & Bobby), the contemporary Percy discovers his father is the legendary Poseidon, and another god needs Percy’s assistance when Zeus’s lightning disappears. (Toon)
Orphan Black
In the new episode Ruthless in Purpose, and Insidious in Method, Rachel (Tatiana Maslany) makes a promise to Sarah (Maslany), but it comes at a heavy price. Helena and Gracie (Maslany, Zoe de Grand’Maison), team up with the Hendrixes, as Donnie (Kristian Bruun), takes Kellerman (guest star Justin Chatwin), to task. As for Team Castor, Coady (Kyra Harper), and a confederate hatch a scheme to locate the Castor Original. (Space)
Movie: Jungle Book
Before Disney got its hands on Rudyard Kipling’s classic, there was this live-action 1942 adaptation starring Sabu as the Indian boy who is adopted and raised by wolves after wandering into the jungle as a small child. Older, he finds his way back home and fascinates his fellow villagers with his ability to talk to animals — and his knowledge of a lost city containing treasure. (TCM)
