Edmonton’s Block named Fire Chief of Year
Edmonton fire Chief Ken Block has been named Fire Chief of the Year by the Metropolitan Fire Chiefs Association.
The award honours achievements within the field of fire rescue.
Block was recognized for his leadership and efforts to introduce legislation identifying job-related cancers faced by firefighters.
“I am very honoured and humbled by this award and accept it on behalf of all the staff at Edmonton Fire Rescue Services,” Block said in a written statement.
