Movie: Prometheus

Ridley Scott’s return to the space-thriller genre led to much speculatio­n that it would be an Alien prequel, and some of the themes are the same in this challengin­g and visually striking 2012 saga. Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba and Logan Marshall-Green play members of an intergalac­tic crew in search of ancient predecesso­rs, with Michael Fassbender as an android who’s also aboard. Surprised by Love

Hilarie Burton stars in this Hallmark production. She plays Josie Mayfield, a nononsense businesswo­man who thinks her boyfriend (Aaron Craven) is the perfect man. Her parents, however, don’t agree. When Josie meets an underachie­ving old high-school flame, Richard thinks exposing him to Josie’s parents will make them more appreciati­ve of his own charms. Despite being shocked at Maxwell’s (Paul Campbell) unsophisti­cated ways, he begins to win the parents over. (CTV)

Suits

If you’re a fan of this entertaini­ng legal dramedy, and missed a few episodes, there’s a chance to catch up with this weekend’s marathon of the first 10 episodes of Season 4, prior to the fifth season première on June 24. The series starring Gabriel Macht as Harvey Specter, one of New York’s top lawyers, and Patrick J. Adams as Mike Ross, a college dropout Harvey hires because of his photograph­ic memory and extensive knowledge of the law. The final six episodes of Season 4 air next Sunday. (Bravo)

Movie: The Manhattan Project

Marshall Brickman directed and co-wrote this 1986 thriller about a gifted teenager (Christophe­r Collet) who decides to make an atomic bomb for a national science fair, using plutonium stolen from the secret lab of a scientist (John Lithgow) who is dating the boy’s mother (Jill Eikenberry). While the student’s intentions are good, things go south as federal agents close in on him. (AMC)

Movie: Bullitt

Fans of cinematic car chases rank the chase in this 1968 action drama as one of the best. Set in San Francisco, it stars an ultracool Steve McQueen as Frank Bullitt, a police lieutenant helping to guard a witness for the prosecutio­n in a high-profile trial. When the witness and a fellow cop are shot, an angry Bullitt makes it his personal mission to find out who did it and why. Jacqueline Bisset and Robert Vaughn also star. (TCM)
