Familiar face rejoins St. Albert city council
Four-time St. Albert city councillor Bob Russell was elected this week to the city’s council in a byelection.
The longtime St. Albert resident almost doubled the number of votes of his closest competitor, Edward Ramsden, according to unofficial results released Wednesday.
With 5,211 votes counted, there was 10.53 per cent voter participation in the byelection. Russell received 1,860 votes.
The byelection was triggered following the resignation from council of Gilles Prefontaine, who took a position with the City of St. Albert in April.
