Product breakdown
The first phase of the Sturgeon Refinery will process 79,000 barrels per day of diluted bitumen — 75 per cent provided by the Alberta government and 25 per cent by Canadian Natural Resources Ltd.
Here’s a look at the planned daily output of products:
Low sulphur diesel fuel: 40,000 barrels Low sulphur vacuum gas oil (an intermediate feedstock for other petrochemical products): 9,000 barrels Diluent: 17,000 barrels Naphtha: 11,000 barrels Propane and butane will also be produced, in smaller quantities
