Three killed, one injured in collision near Ponoka

Three people were killed Saturday in a collision on the QEII Highway.

Ponoka RCMP responded to a two-vehicle crash about 4:45 p.m. Saturday south of Highway 53.

Three people were confirmed dead at the scene and one person was taken to hospital in Ponoka with “undetermined” injuries, police said.

An RCMP collision analyst was on scene and the collision remained under investigation.

The QEII northbound was closed south of Ponoka near Highway 2A, and the QEII southbound was down to one lane.
