Information: 103- 10310 124 St., landogallery.com LATITUDE 53 CONTEMPORARY VISUAL CULTURE Taras Polataiko Ukrainian-born Canadian artist Taras Polataiko returned to Kyiv to create a project on the eve of the annexation of Crimea. Polataiko ended up making portrait photographs of wounded soldiers in hospital, coupled with interviews about their experiences, recording them in one take interrupted occasionally by nurses offering anaesthetic shots. He asked only one question: what is needed here? Until April 30. Paul Bernhardt: The Reflex The Reflex draws on imagery of video games and obsolete workplace punch-clocks, creating paintings that are themselves captured in a surveillance system of mirrors within the gallery.
