Turn possibility into ability at elves

-

At Elves Special Needs Society, possibility becomes ability. The key is a partnership between the learner, their family, and our experts in the field of learning and development. We also know and embrace that family is critical to an individual’s success and instrumental to progress across a lifespan.

Elves is a private school implementing a Designated Special Education Program (DSEP) accredited by Alberta Education. Early childhood services (ECS) and grades one to 12 programs optimize communication, cognitive and academic abilities, as well as social-emotional regulation. Small classroom sizes, high staff ratios, and supports based on strengths ensure every learner is achieving success in life.

All ability levels are welcome. The staff specializes in supporting learners with speech delays, fine and gross motor delays, autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome and fetal alcohol spectrum disorder from ages 2.5 to 20.

Students are engaged by certified teachers and educational assistants throughout their day. As well as a multidisciplinary team of nurses, family support workers, speech language pathologists, occupational and physical therapists, therapy assistants, and an educational consultant.

Families are fully involved in the education process through participation in individual programs, parent team meetings, family oriented programs, parent education sessions, support groups, workshops, and community referrals. Daily communication also takes place between home and school so parents or caregivers and staff are on the same page.
