“Jon Snow is dead.” Those are the first words in HBO’s summary for the Season 6 première The Red Woman, but many fans are still skeptical that fan favourite Kit Harington is history. Among other anticipated plot lines, Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) has to break the news to sister/lover Cersei (Lena Headey) that their daughter, Myrcella, is dead and help her move to quash the Faith Militant’s theocratic coup in King’s Landing. (HBO Canada)

BERING SEA GOLD

After five seasons on the frigid Bering Sea, the new special episode Digging Deep looks back over past episodes to recap some of the recurring characters and ongoing storylines, such as the triumphs and struggles experienced by members of the Pomrenke family, the star-crossed romance of Emily and Zeke, the apparently chronic conflicts Vernon has faced with members of his crew and the almost daily chaos that comes with being one of the “Fightin’ Kellys.” (Discovery)

OUTLANDER

In a new episode called Useful Occupations and Deceptions, Claire (Caitriona Balfe) finds solace and purpose in her healing skills as Jamie (Sam Heughan) gets swept up in complicated political machinations. But as their plan to stop the Battle of Culloden progresses, their shared past threatens to derail their efforts to move forward. (Showcase)

A lot goes on for Henry (Tim Daly), on both the personal and professional fronts, in the new episode Connection Lost. He attends couples therapy with Elizabeth (Téa Leoni), conducted by her usual counsellor (returning guest star Marsha Mason). However, that has to be fit in around his mission from President Dalton (Keith Carradine) to go to Islamabad with Jane and Jose (Jill Hennessy, Carlos Gomez) and terminate the world’s most dangerous terrorist. (CBS, Global)

FEAR THE WALKING DEAD

In a new episode called Ouroboros — a reference to the ancient symbol of a serpent that devours its own tail — Madison (Kim Dickens) reaches the end of her rope with Strand (Colman Domingo), their enigmatic benefactor, so she confronts him and demands to know about his mysterious destination. Elsewhere, Nick, Alicia (Frank Dillane, Alycia Debnam-Carey) and others in their party inspect wreckage from a plane crash in search of answers. (AMC Canada)

VEEP

Locked in an Electoral College tie, President Selina Meyer (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) awaits resolution of her political fortunes as this Emmy-winning comedy returns for Season 5. Dan (Reid Scott), meanwhile, considers a new career. (HBO Canada)

WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?

Molly Ringwald is the special guest for a new episode that finds Hollywood’s former teen queen exploring a family tree that includes Swedish royalty among its branches.
