Eskimos sign veteran defensive back Parks

The Edmonton Eskimos added experience to their defensive secondary Thursday by signing defensive back Cord Parks.

Parks, a 29-year-old Northeastern product who hails from Decatur, Ga., spent the last three seasons with the B.C. Lions, making 140 tackles, eight interceptions and 44 starts in 45 games played.

The signing comes with the Eskimos having lost some of their personnel at the position from last year’s Grey Cup-winning squad, including Aaron Grymes (NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles), Otha Foster (Saskatchewan Roughriders) and Ryan Hinds (Ottawa Redblacks).

The Eskimos open 2016 training camp on Sunday.
