Bouchard loses at French Open
Canadian Eugenie Bouchard was eliminated from the French Open after a 6-4, 6-4 secondround loss to eighth-seeded Timea Bacsinszky of Switzerland on Thursday. A French Open semifinalist last year, Bacsinszky was broken in her first service game, but Bouchard couldn’t hold the lead as Bacsinszky broke back in the seventh game, broke Bouchard again for a 5-4 lead, and served out the first set. After making the semifinals at Roland Garros in 2014, Bouchard lost in the first round last year. From a careerhigh year-end ranking of seventh, the 22-year-old Canadian slipped out of the top 40 in 2015 and struggled with an eating disorder she says she has since conquered.
