In the third season finale of this series based on the Canadian West books by novelist Janette Oke, tragedy strikes again. In the episode, titled Prayers From the Heart, Jack and Elizabeth (Daniel Lissing, Erin Krakow) — along with the rest of Hope Valley — spring into action to help the miners from the settlement, who are trapped following a landslide. MOVIE: THE ODD COUPLE

Matthew Perry (Friends) and Thomas Lennon (Reno 911) currently star in a CBS reboot of the sitcom that won Emmys for Jack Klugman and Tony Randall during its fondly remembered 197075 run on ABC. Even before that, however, squabbling roommates Oscar Madison and Felix Ungar came to vivid comic life thanks to Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon, in this slick and satisfying 1968 adaptation of Neil Simon’s stage hit.
