Catch the yoga fever!

-

At Westend Seniors Activity Centre (WSAC), we believe what’s good for the mind is good for the joints, muscles and soul, too!

This fall, yoga fever has taken hold of our centre, with over 15 different variations and classes to choose from.

From Gentle Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Yin Yoga Nidra, Adaptive Yoga, Structural Yoga and Pilatoga, we have something for everyone.

Yoga has been around for centuries, and the members of WSAC are proving just why. Its benefits extend far beyond “Namaste,” helping to promote overall health and wellness. Our programs focus on core strength, improving balance and posture, which often leads to less injury and greater ability to perform everyday tasks.

“Prior to joining yoga, I didn’t have the energy to get through my morning and now I can go all day,” said WSAC member Sandy McCarthy.

Westend Seniors is proud to host some of the most talented instructors in our area. While many instructors are highly qualified, often travelling far distances to attain certifications, some instructors do it just for the fun — all bringing forth different perspectives and experiences that make their classes attractive and beneficial to different interests.

The proof is in the pudding, with studies showing just how much yoga can boost overall quality of life – not to mention its strong connection to disease prevention. So why not get bit by the fever and join one of our yoga programs today?
