Big Brother Canada Season 5 debuts Wednesday on Global

Sindy with an ‘S,’ and Ika with an attitude.

Sindy and Ika are among the most memorable returning house guests for Season 5 of Big Brother Canada, which debuts Wednesday on Global. If you’re familiar with previous seasons of the show, the names Sindy and Ika will make you shiver, for different reasons.

Eight more house guests — four returnees and four newcomers — were revealed on Thursday. The returnees: Sindy Nguyen, 27, from Huntsville, Ont., who annoyed everyone in season 3 by introducing herself as ‘Sindy with an S.’

Ika Wong, 32, from Toronto, who is responsible for one of the most talked-about moments in the show’s history, when she shredded her fellow season 2 house guests’ letters from loved ones in exchange for $5,000.

Cassandra Shahinfar, 23, from Winnipeg, whose strong social game couldn’t save her on a dreaded tripleeviction night in season 4.

Dallas Cormier, 25, from Edmonton, whose apparent lack of respect for “gummy koalas” sealed his season-4 eviction. The newcomers include: Demetres Giannitsos, from Edson, Alta., a 24-year-old oilfield instrument technician.

Karen Singbeil, from Victoria, a 53-year-old real estate broker.

Jackie McCurrach, from Port Coquitlam, B.C., a 22-year-old pizza-maker.

DillonCarman, from Madoc, Ont., a 30-year-old pro boxer who currently is the Canadian heavyweight champion.

Previously announced house guests for season 5 include returnees Gary Levy, Neda Kalantar, Kevin Martin and Bruno Ielo, and newcomers Andre (Dre) Gwenaelle, Mark Chrysler, Emily Hawkin and William Laprise Desbiens.
