The adult suspects accused of murdering two Edmonton Mac’s convenience store clerks during a pair of armed robberies have been scheduled to go to trial in 2018.

Laylin Cole Alex Delorme, 26, and Colton James Steinhauer, 28, each face two charges of first-degree murder, robbery and other offences in connection to the Dec. 18, 2015, shooting deaths of Mac’s workers Ricky Massin Cenabre, 41, and Karanpal Singh Bhangu, 35.

On Friday, lawyers for Delorme and Steinhauer appeared in court and settled on dates for the trial, which is scheduled to run for 20 days between June 4 and June 29, 2018. Neither accused appeared in court Friday, but both were present at a preliminary hearing that wrapped up in late January. Both are being held in custody.

A third accused, a boy who was 13 at the time, was also charged with two counts of first-degree murder and robbery offences. His identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, and he is being tried separately in youth court.
