NOTES
Oilers defenceman Oscar Klefbom, who missed Game 6 in Edmonton after being hit in the chest with a puck in Game 5, practised Tuesday and is expected to be in the lineup Wednesday … The home team has an all-time record of 97-69 in Game 7s, including 3-2 this season … More importantly, the team that scores the first goal is 124-42 all-time, including 5-0 this year … Patrick Eaves remains hobbled by a foot injury incurred in Game 3 and Logan Shaw is nursing a lower-body injury that happened in the first overtime of Game 5. Carlyle called both “questionable” … The Ducks are 3-2 at home in the playoffs, the Oilers are 4-2 on the road … The Oilers are 6-3 all-time in Game 7s. Their last one was, of course, during the 2006 Stanley Cup final against Carolina … Leon Draisaitl now has 13 points through six games of the series against Anaheim … Ryan Nugent-Hopkins went 63 per cent in the faceoff circle last game
WHO TO WATCH
Oilers: Leon Draisaitl Who else? He has 11 goals in 11 games against the Ducks this year and picked up five points in the 7-1 slaughter. Just one more big game from the Duck Killer and Edmonton is in the Western Conference final.
Ducks: John Gibson
He did not look strong in Game 6 and the last thing a team with a history of losing Game 7s needs is a goalie who might have the yips. It’s a bad combination. If he’s not on his game, it’s over.
