Police ask for help after body found

The body of a man found on a road Wednesday morning in St. Albert has RCMP asking for public tips.

The body was found near Poundmaker Road and Sir Winston Churchill Avenue around 5:24 a.m.

Dennis Birkholz, who lives in the area, said his wife saw the body on her way to work at about 6:30 a.m.

“My wife was crying. She said, ‘I just saw a dead body.’ She was going to work, you don’t expect stuff like that,” he said.

RCMP are asking anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area between 10 p.m. Tuesday and 6 a.m. Wednesday to call them at 780-458-7700 or CrimeStoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477).
