Po­lice seek tips af­ter women ha­rassed

In­ci­dents in­volved shady job of­fers

Ed­mon­ton po­lice said Wed­nes­day de­tec­tives are hop­ing more wit­nesses will come for­ward af­ter two peo­ple were ar­rested for al­legedly ha­rass­ing women with a ques­tion­able job of­fer.

Po­lice began in­ves­ti­gat­ing in mid-March af­ter sev­eral women re­ported be­ing ap­proached by ei­ther a man alone or a man and a woman to­gether in shop­ping cen­tres who were claim­ing to be re­cruiters for an es­tate man­age­ment com­pany.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice, the women would be shown a job de­scrip­tion for a po­si­tion as an es­tate man­ager be­fore be­ing in­vited for a for­mal in­ter­view.

Only a few of the women who came for­ward to po­lice agreed to go to the lo­ca­tion for the in­ter­view.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors have ar­rested and charged Christo­pher Bo­nanni, 39, and Jes­sica Bedard, 25, both from Ed­mon­ton, with in­ter­fer­ing with a per­son’s law­ful use or en­joy­ment of prop­erty, a form of mis­chief.

De­tec­tives are hop­ing other women who may have been ap­proached by these in­di­vid­u­als will come for­ward with in­for­ma­tion about their in­ter­ac­tions.
