Nothing makes you feel more Canadian than the music of Gordon Lightfoot, which is one of the reasons why Alberta Ballet has deemed him to be the next songwriter represented in their series of multi-media enhanced performances honouring musical icons Elton John (Love Lies Bleeding) and k.d. lang (Balletlujah.) The other reasons include the company is celebrating its 50th anniversary, just as Canada itself marks the 150th anniversary of the founding of the country. Songs for the performance include If You Could Read My Mind, The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, and Sundown.
