It’s been a couple of years since Australian guitarist Tommy Emmanuel has been at the Myer Horowitz, but he’s certainly kept busy. The 61-year-old virtuoso, named “Best Acoustic Guitarist” in two different years of Guitar Player Magazine’s yearly poll, has been lauded for his fusion of folk, rock, blues, bluegrass and jazz, making a fan of the legendary Chet Atkins in the process. He tours and records hard; Emmanuel released three records in 2015 alone, including collaborations with Dodi Battaglia (Dov’è andata la musica) as well as Ian Cooper and Ian Date (Just Passing Through.)
