The first cin­e­matic pair­ing be­tween Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder is also con­sid­ered to be one of the best by fans of the two comic leg­ends, who team up to solve a mur­der and a mys­tery in Sil­ver Streak. Wilder plays book editor Ge­orge Cald­well while Pryor is petty thief Grover T. Mul­doon, who is roped into the sit­u­a­tion by an in­creas­ingly des­per­ate Cald­well. The odd­ball pair­ing find them­selves caught be­tween law en­force­ment and cold blooded killers in this com­edy clas­sic, which was cho­sen by the Amer­i­can Film In­sti­tute as one of the top films in its rank­ing of 100 Years, 100 Laughs in a 2000 poll of crit­ics.
