Weston created G.I. Joe figure
The creator of the G.I. Joe action figure has died at the age of 84. Stanley Weston died on May 1, TheWrap.com reports. A cause of death was not reported. The New York native and U.S. army veteran came up with the idea for a military doll for boys after noticing the popularity of the Barbie toys in the early 1960s. His creation became known as G.I.
