Heavy trucks take toll on alleys
Re. “Council commits $20 million a year for 25 years to fix crumbling alleys,” May 10
The city won’t get much laneway rehabilitation done for $20 million.
In my 75-year-old laneway, two 30-40-tonne garbage trucks rumble through every week, to say nothing of the infill-construction dump trucks grinding through without regulation.
These roads were never designed to withstand such abuse, now or in the future. D. A. Taylor, Edmonton
