‘Everyday Heroes’ help others in need

The “City of Champions” title generally is used in reference to sports teams who overpowered the competition.

It may be more appropriate to borrow a phrase from Global TV’s Everyday Heroes, which recognizes people who go quietly about their business making life better for the less fortunate and those who courageously deal with serious illness, loss or misfortune, and give others hope and inspiration.

As an example, there are volunteers who deliver poinsettias to shut-ins at Christmas — not for the recognition, but for the pure altruism of helping others.
