Police are investigating a sexual assault in Sherwood Park and are asking for the public’s help in gathering information.

Around 5:27 p.m. Monday, a woman was walking on a path heading eastbound off Clover Bar Lane when she was approached from behind by an unknown male, Strathcona County RCMP said in a news release Tuesday.

The male grabbed the victim’s waist and took her into the tall grass, police said. As she was being assaulted, police said the woman was able to break free and yell for help. The woman immediately called police and the man ran westbound toward Clover Bar Lane.

The male is described as Caucasian, six feet tall, between 200 and 250 pounds, with a fair complexion and short brown hair balding on top. Police said he was wearing a white golf shirt, blue jeans and skateboard-type shoes.

In another release Tuesday from Strathcona RCMP, police are looking for a man who was found “exposing his genitals” on a path in Sherwood Park Saturday afternoon. A female was walking on a path from Green Grove Crescent to Glen Allen Park around noon when a man riding a blue mountain bike passed by.

The woman saw the man again on the path on her way back from the park, this time without pants on.

Police are looking for a male described as Caucasian, about 30 years old, six foot one, 200 pounds, well built and with short blond hair.

The man was wearing a beige baseball hat, wire-framed glasses, a blue shirt and cargo-type pants.
