4 Absence of Malice (1981) Paul Newman and Sally Field star in Sydney Pollack’s thriller about a reporter (Field) who helps a businessma­n (Newman) prove his innocence after her story falsely implicates him.

5 Citizen Kane (1941) Orson Welles directed and stars as power-hungry newspaper tycoon Charles Foster Kane in this film widely regarded as among the best ever made.
