Golf course eatery was not up to par

-

Not to suggest that Brad Lazarenko does not operate a good dining operation, however, as a service to golfers it was a dismal failure.

I am part of a group of eight to 12 people who golf every Sunday at Rundle Park.

Our experience at Rundle was disappointing, unpredictable and frustrating.

The operation certainly did not render a convenience to golfers trying to grab a quick bite and a drink between rounds.

Golfers don’t want to wait

10 or 15 minutes to have something prepared and doing so only leads to disruption and delays at the 10th tee box.

The facility at Rundle should have been a concession, not a restaurant, and this was sadly misunderstood. There was ongoing uncertainty if they would even be open when they should, leading us to grab things on the way to the course instead of getting there and finding opening was delayed or even cancelled because they did not expect many golfers on that occasion.

I don’t know how many times staff in the clubhouse would just shake their heads when the expected service was not provided.

We were encouraged to complain to the city at 311 and rest assured that happened on many occasions.

Our golfing group will be pleased Dogwood Cafe is turfed and no matter who takes over, the service will only be improved. Dave and Courtney Blackburn, Edmonton
