Bautista inks minor league deal with Braves

-

Former Toronto Blue Jays superstar Jose Bautista hopes there are a few bat flips left in his baseball career. The Atlanta Braves announced on Twitter they have agreed to terms with the 37-yearold slugger on a one-year, minorleague contract for the 2018 season, and that he has reported to Atlanta’s extended spring training complex in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Mostly an outfielder with the Blue Jays, the Braves said Bautista will play third base. Atlanta’s GM is Canadian Alex Anthopoulos, who formerly held that post in Toronto. Bautista will reportedly receive a US$1million, one-year deal if added to the 40-man major league roster. Bautista earned $18 million on a one-year deal with Toronto last season. He hit .203 with 23 homers and 65 runs-batted in.
