Man wanted for nine robberies in two months
City police have released photos of a man they say committed nine robberies in two months.
Most of the robberies happened at fast food restaurants and gas bars in southwest Edmonton.
The first robbery took place Feb .24. The most recent was April 9. The businesses targeted were near Ellerslie Road and 111 Street, Saddleback Road, Gateway Boulevard and 53 Avenue, police said.
Police said the robberies fit a pattern. The suspect — described as a heavy-set Caucasian or Hispanic male, between five-foot-nine and six-foot, aged 30-45 — typically entered between 7:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. and either ordered food or said he was there to pick up an order. He then brandished a weapon and demanded cash and cigarettes.
He was often wearing a darkcoloured ball cap, a blue hoodie, sweat pants and dark shoes. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Edmonton police nonemergency line or Crime Stoppers.
The Edmonton Police Service Robbery Section is seeking the public’s assistance in locating this man, a suspect in nine robberies.
