Firing up the barbecue is a great way to combine our love for the outdoors with our love for sharing good food with friends and family.

Our latest cookbook, From the Grill (McAra Printing), features some of our favourite recipes, including our Jerk Flank Steak.

Flank steak is a great way to enjoy a juicy steak without breaking the bank. However, it’s important to prepare it properly.

Our spicy and flavourful Jerk Flank Steak is infused with allspice, lime, jalapeno, cinnamon, thyme, garlic and fresh cilantro, transporti­ng you to the shores of Jamaica with just one bite.

Pair your steak with our refreshing Kale and Mango Slaw. Colourful kale, mango, carrots and daikon are dressed with a sweet-and-tangy honey poppyseed vinaigrett­e, with a couple of Thai chilies for some heat.

A concern with raw kale is that it can be tough; our recipe prevents this problem by ensuring that the kale is thinly sliced and has time to soften in the vinaigrett­e. Alternativ­ely, the kale can be replaced with baby kale, spinach or other salad greens.
