Police seek cyclist suspected in homicide

Police are searching for a cyclist they consider a suspect in the shooting death of Ibrahim Zoker, 23, on May 16 in the Callingwoo­d area.

According to a news release Friday, the man was seen cycling in the vicinity of the shooting that night. He had a full-sized bike and was wearing a light-coloured top. The suspect may have had a bag or a headlamp at the time.

Police say the suspect could be armed and dangerous and say he should not be approached.

Police have released security footage of a cyclist from the night of the homicide but are not certain it is the suspect. Nonetheles­s, anyone with informatio­n on the cyclist in the video is asked to speak to police.

On Wednesday, May 16 at 10:50 p.m. Zoker was shot and killed while walking on 64 Avenue near 172 Street.

The next day he was declared Edmonton’s 12th homicide of 2018 by the medical examiner.

Zoker went by several nicknames, including Thirty, Thirty Cent, Hundred, Prince, Romeo, Money, Teardrop and Two-Face, police said.
