2018 ECO-SOLAR HOME TOUR

The 19th edition of the annual Eco-Solar Home Tour takes place this weekend, Saturday, June 2 and Sunday, June 3, showcasing 21 sites, including 15 of Edmonton’s most energyeffi­cient homes.

Cost: The tour is free and there is no need to pre-register. Tickets are not required.

Hours: Viewing hours run each day from noon to 4:30 p.m.

Starting point: There are 11 sites open on Saturday, June 2, with the other 10 open on Sunday, June 3. Visitors are encouraged to find the tour map on the Eco-Solar Home Tour website and visit the locations they are most interested in,

Not just homes: The Evansdale Community League is holding a solar celebratio­n on Sunday, June 3 with kids’ games, food, an electric car show, tours of their 26 kW solar system, and booths set up by community groups. Get educated: Energy Efficiency Alberta will be on hand on Saturday, June 2 at Site 8 (Carlisle Church) and Sunday at Sites 13 and 18 (Evansdale and Belgravia Church) to tell people about current incentives for installing solar energy components. Representa­tives from the City of Edmonton will also be on hand Saturday at Site 7 (Prince Charles) and Sunday at Sites 13 and 21 (Evansdale and Keswick).
