Cryp­to­grams are en­coded sen­tences, where each let­ter has been sub­sti­tuted with an­other. Each puz­zle has its own code, but sub­si­tu­tions are consistent through­out that puz­zle. A let­ter may not stand for it­self. For ex­am­ple, JVVW could be code for KEEP, mak­ing ev­ery V in that puz­zle an E, etc.
