Longoria lauds ‘sisterhood’

Eva Longoria has built up an army of powerful feminist allies thanks to the #TimesUp and #MeToo movements against sexual harassment. Longoria says she has bonded with stars such as Reese Witherspoon and Natalie Portman in a way she never expected. “What’s come out of the #TimesUp movement, which we launched about a year ago, was this insane sisterhood,” she tells People. “Now you can pick up the phone and call any woman in our industry and go, ‘I need your help, what happened with this?’ Whether it’s negotiations, whether it’s ‘Should I take this role?’ or you know, #MeToo moments.”
