If you’re a collector of anything antique and beautiful, you’ve probably heard of Ibon Antiques.

Located in Edmonton’s historic Old Strathcona neighbourhood, Ibon Antiques has won Silver in this year’s Readers’ Choice Awards.

For Debra, the store’s co-owner, the award is recognition that she and her team are doing something right.

“We’re very happy to get the designation,” she says. “We work really hard at the store, so all of us are pleased to be recognized.”

For antique collectors and vintage aficionados, there are few places in Canada quite like Ibon Antiques. The store covers more than 4,000 square feet and includes a massive variety of collectibles and antiques: vintage furniture, jewelry, clothing, man cave items, books, home décor, sewing paraphernalia, glass, crystal, china and more.

The shop also has one of the largest collections of Moorcroft pottery in North America, including rare pieces as well as more modern offerings.

Buyers and sellers come from around the world and across the country to visit Ibon.

“People find us when they need to downsize,” says Debra. “They care about what they have, and they need someone to find a new home for their items, a place where someone will take care of them.”

Debra started the business over 10 years ago, after working as a professional violinist for many years. She began by selling at local antique events, but eventually decided to open a brick-and-mortar store in a central location with customer parking.

“We have all kinds of items, going back many years,” Debra says. “It’s such a big collection.”
