Third person charged in 2018 homicide
A 30-year-old man is the third person to be charged with first-degree murder after the body of a woman was pulled from the North Saskatchewan River last year.
The body of 25-year-old Lindsay Marie Jackson of Saddle Lake Cree Nation was found in the North Saskatchewan River near Brosseau, about 150 kilometres northeast of Edmonton, on Oct. 3.
She had been missing since September.
An autopsy later ruled her death as a homicide, but the cause of death has not been released.
On Wednesday, Julian Catalin Whiskeyjack of Saddle Lake was arrested and charged with firstdegree murder, the RCMP Major Crimes Unit said in a news release Friday.
Jena Lynn Hunter, 26, and Jermaine Eugene Steinhauer, 23, both of Edmonton, were previously charged with the first-degree murder of Jackson in December.
Whiskeyjack is to appear in St. Paul provincial court on Feb. 7.
RCMP said they are not seeking any further suspects.
