Vulgar politicking spreads in Alberta

-

The polarization caused by negative campaigning is allowing the creeps to slither out of the woodwork, encouraged by uncivil and at times strictly ideological public dialogue.

On March 11, I saw a large black truck stopped on an overpass over the west Henday with an offensive political decal. It had photos of Rachel Notley and Justin Trudeau with a stop sign. It also had two lines of text reading ‘Ditch the …’ and, the second cannot be repeated as it was utterly vulgar. This is not the Alberta I know.

I have voted Conservative, Liberal and NDP depending on what I thought was best for the people. But I do not tolerate deception and hypocrisy, especially when it is intended to achieve a political end. For example, in Keith Gerein’s March 12 column, he called out Jason Kenny for planning to scrap a well-thought-out initiative to centralize medical testing services in Edmonton, knowing that a similar consolidation is working well in Calgary. This is not policy for the people, nor is it rational. Wayne Hansen, Edmonton
