Chaos in labs threat to patients
Re: “Kenney’s disingenuous stance on health care,” Keith Gerein, March 12
Laboratory services are a vital part of health care despite Jason Kenney’s claim that they have nothing to do with healing. They have everything to do with diagnosis and, therefore, treatment.
Anyone on the front lines of health care will tell you that throwing the system into another round of chaos will do immense damage. Patients will pay the price.
Experts, including the independent Health Quality Council of Alberta, have already been consulted. They spoke out for a publicly funded, publicly delivered, integrated laboratory system.
Kenney doesn’t like experts who disagree with his decision to hand profits to his corporate pals. We’re willing to meet and explain this. Our door is open.
