The Masters of Flip taking series break

- Laura Severs

They’re about to put down their tool belts.

The Canadian-born duo of Kortney and Dave Wilson aren’t exactly leaving the building industry. But they are quite possibly saying goodbye to their home renovation television series, Masters of Flip, after the upcoming fourth season.

“Oh yes, it’s at least the last season for now,” said Kortney Wilson.

“We’re going to take a little break from Masters of Flip after this season and start working on some other projects.”

Details remain vague, however, the Wilsons hope to be able to make an official announcement soon.

But Kortney did drop a juicy hint, noting that they’re excited to start renovating other people’s homes. They’ll also be building themselves a new home.

Whether they will film it, like fellow HGTV Canada stars Bryan Baeumler and Scott McGillivray have done, remains to be seen.

In the meantime, the couple is touting a new book, titled Live Happy. The book, which wasn’t originally on the couple’s radar, came about when publishing house Harper Collins approached them.

“We felt like everybody who watched the show had a glimpse into our lives — our house-flipping lives,” said Kortney. “So we weren’t sure how much more we could offer them. So that’s when we came up with the idea to do stories on how we got here … so we decided to take tips, things that we used over the last 21 years together, and interject little anecdotes into each tip so we each have a voice in the book.”
