Rosenthal to unveil new show homes with community events

-

People looking to put down roots on Edmonton’s west end can now explore a new range of show homes in a community that’s designed with an emphasis on enjoyment outdoors.

Builders in Rosenthal, by Melcor Developments, are raising the curtain on show homes in two parades during its Community in Bloom event today (May 25). The event, which will run from noon until 4 p.m., is slated for activities including a petting zoo, train rides, and obstacle course.

Rosenthal’s new show home parades will shine a light on 10 models combined.

One of the parades, located on 222A Street — across from the community spray park — features single-family homes with a front-attached garage, by Western Living Homes, Parkwood Master Builder, Bedrock Homes, and Pacesetter Homes.

The other model lineup, on 224th Street and Rosenthal Boulevard, is comprised of single-family homes with a front-attached garage, rear detached garage, duplexes, and fee-simple town houses. Here the builders are Dolce Vita Homes, Homes by Avi, and Pacesetter.

Overall, prices start in the low$400,000s on single-family homes with a front-attached garage, mid-$300,000s on rear detached single-family homes, and low$300,000s on duplexes and town houses.

Architectural styles in Rosenthal include Craftsman, Tudor, Heritage, and Prairie designs with a “high standard” on streetscapes, says PJ Pescod, Melcor’s senior development manager.

Calling Rosenthal “in bloom” is appropriate, Pescod says. Its first stage was developed in 2012, with many of its marquee elements added early.

“We like to ensure that when residents are coming in, they get the benefits of the community right away,” he adds. “Every time I go out to Rosenthal, I’m always excited when I see someone running the path, walking their dogs, or kids playing in the spray park in the summer.”

Pescod says, particularly with young families, the spray park separates Rosenthal from many other communities in the area. He also points to its BMX track and community garden as other well-used features.

Rosenthal also boasts a toboggan hill and grass field, and a bridge that crosses its main pond, and is sometimes lit to recognize special events, such as glowing red for Canada Day.
