Dream it. Win it. If only it were that easy.

But if somehow you manage to win Edmonton’s newest lottery home — and someone will — you will indeed be able to live the dream. This aspirational home, brought to life by in the form of a spectacular four-bedroom, five-bathroom, 5,000-squarefoot, $2-million luxury house, is the grand prize for the 2019 edition of the Dreamlife Lottery, formerly the Caritas Foundation Lottery.

Located in the Estates of West Heritage Valley in southwest Edmonton, this contemporary masterpiece marks the entry of Vicky ’s Homes into the Dreamlife Lottery.

“We are always looking at different projects to be involved in that give back to our community,” said Vicky Kujundzic, owner of Vicky’s Homes. “So when the Dreamlife Lottery approached us to build this home it was the perfect fit. With families of our own, we truly understand the need for leading-edge hospitals in our city. The Dreamlife Lottery has our full support and we are thrilled to be part of such a great cause.”

This two-storey home, or twoand-a-half storeys if you take into account that the upper level master is about half a floor higher than the rest of the second floor, is elegant, modern and designed to be family friendly.

The open-concept main floor includes a great room with an Optimyst fireplace with a custom panelled entertainment unit above featuring hidden doors to conceal the TV. The kitchen, meanwhile, includes numerous custom features: a pizza oven for fun family dinners, a five-foot-wide galley sink, two hidden doors leading to a spice kitchen and the garage entrance, and a two-sided glassdoor wine display separating the kitchen and dining room.

Upstairs, all three bedrooms have their own ensuites and walkin closets, although the two in the children’s bedrooms are on a much smaller scale than the master retreat, which also incorporates a sitting area complete with a wetbar and wine fridge.

What might catch your eyes up here, matey, is one of the kids rooms done in a pirate motif and a bed ensconced in a pirate’s ship frame.

“We like to travel abroad when selecting our furniture and decor for our showhomes,” said Kujundzic. “This home was designed for young families so when we came across the pirate bed, we felt it was perfect.”

But the crowning touch could be outdoors, even though the house’s lower level is equipped with a gym, recreation zone and a wet bar.

“Our main showcase item is a 30-foot by 60-foot multigame sport court for basketball, pickleball or badminton in the backyard,” added Kujundzic.

“We wanted something unique to this lottery and to this home. We have never seen one done before so we thought it was the perfect opportunity to stand out from other homes.”

Over the past 25 years, the lottery has raised more than $27 million to support Covenant Health facilities.

“Thousands of patients rely on these hospitals for medical supports,” said Tracy Sopkow, CEO, Covenant Foundation, in regards to the Grey Nuns, Misericordia and Edmonton General.

“It is crucial that we provide exceptional care. Dreamlife lottery helps to ensure that each and every patient has ongoing access to our vital services — it is one of our largest fundraisers and allows the foundation to invest in transforming health care.”

The 2019 Dreamlife lottery offers prizes valued at more than $2.8 million, including luxury vehicles, designing your own dream vacation, and choosing great sports experiences such as the Masters, the Super Bowl, a Stanley Cup finals game, a World Series game or an NBA finals game.
